Listen

(Music by Yanni; lyrics by Renah)

Listen, I’ll tell you
Something you once knew
How halt you
Between two
Opinions of Me
When I set you free
From the power of sin
You cannot win
When you reject Torah for
Commandments of men.

Listen, I’ll tell you
Something you once knew
I gave Ten Commandments
The story is told
That they have grown old
Become obsolete
I will repeat
My Word endures for all time
With Wisdom sublime.

Chorus:

A double minded man
Is not the kind I can
Just open up My hand
And pour you out a blessing
Like Jacob you are wrestling
And now, behold, I’m testing you.

Repeat two stanzas

Repeat Chorus

So listen, I’ll tell you
Something you once knew...
Listen I’ll tell you
Something that you once knew
Listen, I’ll tell you
Something that you once knew.....
....Obey.....

I heard this song in my head (from the LORD) while driving an RV and listening to Yanni’s music (In The Morning Light/In My Time) in early 2001. It led to my recommitment (teshuvah) after a year or more of lukewarmness/backsliding due to disillusionment. On 3/31/01 I found renewed peace after examining myself through looking at the Ten Commandments as a mirror to my soul. When I repented of being a “logbook liar” I experienced cleansing, restoration, and renewed intimate relationship with God. Abundant blessings ensued, along with severe testings and trials. I am sure He is preparing me for Tribulation and a great outpouring of His Spirit in these Last Days
